William Elsworth ASher,43, of Oakland, Calif., a native of Gladstone, Ill., died in Oakland Nov. 20. He was born April 16, 1907, the son of Jesse and Ida Alice McIntyre Asher. Asher, a WWII veteran was a construction worker. Surviving are 5 sisters, Mrs. Frank McKee, Burlington; Mrs. Elmer Noren, Chicago; Mrs. Florence Krummel, Galesburg, Ill.; Mrs. Wyman Conlon Gilson, Ill., Mrs. George Haller, Gary, Ind., 3 brothers, Arthur Asher, Mediapolis; Loyd Asher, Davenport, and Jesse Archer, Galesburg; and several nieces and nephews. Private funeral services will be held in Prugh's chapel at 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery. The body arrived here Saturday afternoon.
