Obituary

Arthur Allen Asher, 69, of 410 Maple street, died Wednesday night at Burlington hospital, following an extended illness. He was born in Carman, Ill., Mar. 12,1885, the son of Jess and Ida McIntire Asher. he was married to Wilma Raines who survives. Six children who survive are Judy, Linda, Connie and David, all at home; Mrs. Floyd Schmidt of Burlington and Mr. Dorsey Asher of Port Byron, Ill. Other survivors include four step-children, Mrs. Ilene John of Burlington, Mrs. Analee Newcomb of Muscatine and Maryjo and Larry Kirkpatrick at home; five sisters, Mrs. Lulu McKee of Burlington, Mrs. Leala Noran of Plymouth, Ind., Mrs. Florence Krummel of Galesburg, Ill., and Mrs. Helen Conlon of Galesburg, Ill. Two brothers, Lloyd Asher of Davenport, and Jess Asher of Wapello also are living as well are four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. His parents, two brothers and one sister are dead. Services will be in Prughs chapel Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
