William Wells Ashby, 612 S. 9th street, died at his home at 4:50 a.m. Tuesday after an extended illness. He was born in Canton, Mo., August 8, 1871 and has been a resident of Burlington for over 40 years. His wife, the former Eliza Jane Morrison is dead. he was a member of the A.M.E. church. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Martha Allen of Canton, Mo., and several nieces and nephews. The body is at Prugh's chapel. Funeral services will be held at a time to be announced later,
