John Aschoff, a young man well known in this city, passed away yesterday at the home of his brother George. He had been sick with typhoid fever for the past two months, and although strong and hearty, the disease steadily got the better of him until he was at last compelled to give up the struggle. John Aschoff was born in this city 31 years ago and has made this his home continuously ever since. he was an industrious, upright and genial young fellow and by his open hearted disposition and good nature won for himself many sincere friendships. The news of his death will occasion profound regret among his friends.He is survived by his mother, Mrs. R. Aschoff; four brothers, William, Frank, George and Ed and two sisters, Mrs. Scott Duvall of Galesburg and Mrs. P.J.Matthews of this city. The funeral will take place Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence of Mr. George Aschoff, No. 124 South Seventh street, and will be in charge of the Fraternal Order of Eagles of which deceased was a member in good standing.
