Mrs. Lulu Barnum, 91, Quincy, Ill., a former West Burlington resident, died at 8 am Wednesday, Dec. 10, at her home.
She was born Apr. 20, 1884, in Burlington, the daughter of John and Ellen Hansen Swan. She married Charles Barnum at West Burlington on Mary 6, 1907; he died in 1908.
She was a member of the West Burlington Methodist Church and was church pianist there for 25 years, and a member of the King’s Daughters.
She is survived by her son, Charles, editor of the Quincy Herald-Whig newspaper.
Funeral: 11 am Friday Hansen-Spear funeral home, Quincy, Rev. Jonathan Story. Graveside service will be 1:30 pm Friday, Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington. A memorial has been established with the Quincy First Union Congregational church.
