Mrs. Janet Helen Christ, 90, of Burlington died at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2012, at Rose Bush Gardens. Mrs. Christ was born February 5, 1922 at the home of her parents Annie (Long) and Frank Hartman. On June 2, 1964 she married Elmer Bunte. He preceded her in death on December 27, 1967. On August 13, 1976 she married Richard L. Christ in Burlington. He also preceded her in death on May 19, 2011. Mrs. Christ attended St. John's Catholic School and was a graduate of Burlington High School. She worked in assembly for Winegard Co., retiring in 1984. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and Eagles and Moose Auxiliaries. She loved to play cards, crochet, needlework, blue grass music, movies and dancing. Survivors include one sister-in-law, Frances (Gene) Hartman; three nephews, Dan (Janelle) Hartman and Michael (Donna) Hartman both of Burlington and Tom (Margaret) Hartman of High Prairie, Alberta, Canada; four step children, Larry Christ of South Carolina, Linda Anderson of Pearl, Mississippi, Julie Tonkovitz of Waukesha, Wisconsin and Jodie Christ of Winfield; eight grandchildren, Rachel, Lauren, Josh, Wayne, Natalie, Kelsey, Nicholas and Brook; two great grandchildren, Sofhia and Ryan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands and four brothers, John, Leo, Warren, and Paul Hartman. The memorial funeral service for Mrs. Christ will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 17th, in Lunning Chapel with Pastor Susanne Smith officiating. Inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the time of service. A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice. According to Mrs. Christ's wishes, cremation has been accorded.
