Obituary
Mrs. Charles E. Barnes, formerly Miss Minerva Jackson Burt, of Burlington, and a daughter of the late Mr. and Mes. EM Burt, died yesterday at her home in Taylorville, Ill., following an illness of long duration. The body will be brought here for burial in the family lot in Aspen Grove cemetery, arriving Friday evening. Funeral services will be held from Prugh’s chapel at 10:30 Saturday morning with Rev. Dr. Naboth Osborne officiating. Interment will be private.
Mrs. Barnes was born in Lafayette, Ind., on December 2, 1857, and came to Burlington with her parents in 1868. She remained in Burlington until after the death of her parents and then went to Chicago about twenty years ago where she was married. She is survived by her husband and two brothers, Walter M. Burt, or Burlington and WD Burt of Los Angeles, Calif.
