Obituary
The body of Mrs. Mary Archibald, 89 years old, and a former resident of Burlington, who died in Houston, Tex., Thursday, will be brought to Burlington for burial. It will arrive here Sunday night and funeral services will be conducted from Prugh's chapel, Monday. Mrs. Archibald was born in Pennsylvania, in December 1836, coming to Burlington in 1870. She lived here until the death of her husband, about eight years ago, when she went to Memphis, Tenn., to live with her daughter, Mrs. H.H. Meek. This winter she went to Houston for her health, living at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.B. Neal, where she died. Mr. Archibald was a contractor in Burlington for many years and the family lived at 1115 Spray street. Mrs. Archibald was a member of the First Baptist church of Burlington. In addition to the two daughters, there also survive two sons, J.T. Archibald of Davenport. The latter came to Burlington late yesterday to arrange for the funeral.
