The funeral of Mrs. Amria Appel, the beloved wife of Veit Appel, of 428 Barrett street, will be held from the family home, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and interment will be made in Aspen Grove cemetery. Death was due to pneumnia after one week's illness. Maria Salzgeber was a native of Switzerland, born July 16, 1861, and came to Burlington with her parents, when bur four years of age. She was married to Mr. Veit Appel, September 26, 1882. Of the four children born to this worthy couple, three survive the mother: Ida and Walter, at home and Mrs. Ed Lawrence of Detroit, Mich. There is a grandchild in Detroit, a sister, Mrs. John Woellhaf, and a brother, Jacob Salzgeber here. She was a good woman and not merely in the family circle, but where-ever she was known will be genuine mouring for her.
