Mrs. Elizabeth Andrew, 70, of 1212 S. Tenth street, who had been in failing health for the last few years, died at 10:05 Friday morning at Mercy hospital.
She was born June 25, 1871, in Burlington, the daughter of Justin and Julia Stevenson Jacoby, and was married here to the late George W. Andrew Sept. 17, 1889. Mrs. Andrew, a member of First Baptist church, also was a member of the Women's Relief corps.
She was a former matron at the Kings Daughters home and later operated a rooming house on N. Third street. Mrs. Andrew retired about 5 years ago.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Florence Murray of Burlington; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Julia D. Jacoby of Burlington; and a number of nieces and nephews. Three children, George, Harry and Mary are dead. The body is at Prugh's chapel.
