Obituary

Mrs. Emma G. Andre, 72 years old, widow of John J. Andre and one of Burlington's arly residents, died yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock in St. Francis hospital. She had been a patient at the hospital for the last three months, but her condition did not become serious until last week and from that time she gradually grew weaker.
Mrs. Andre was born in New York City, November 27, 1855 and came to Burlington whena young firl. She was married to John Andre, who preceded her in death 13 years ago. For many years Mr. Andre was the proprietor of a shoe store on Jefferson street between Third and Main, and both MRs. Andre and her husband were prominent in community activities.
Mrs. Andre was a member of the Congregational church. Her amiable disposition, together with her unfailing consideration of those in need, endeared her to hundreds of friends, who regard her passing with sincere regret.
She is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Henry Rohlfs of Sacramento, Cal.; Mrs. Fred Lindeman of Failbault, Minn.; Mrs. W.J. Hagrefe of Sacramento, Calif., and Mrs. Rosetta Gillies of Burlington.
Funeral services will be conducted from her late residence, 157 South Eighth street, Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock, in charge of Rev. Archibald Cardle. Interment will be made in Aspen Grove cemetery.
