Bernard Joseph Sterzing, 76, of 310 E. Agency Road, West Burlington, died 7:46 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, 1988, at Burlington Medical Center. Born Sept. 19, 1912, in Burlington, he was the son of Carl and Mamie Stoll Sterzing. He married Helen L. Meyer June 1, 1947, in Burlington. He was a potato chip manufacturer before retiring. He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church, the Carthage Lake Club and the Masonic Patriot Lodge. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife and several cousins. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lunning Chapel. The service for Mr. Sterzing will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Chris Hansen officiating. Burial will ne in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Bethany Lutheran Church.
