In 1850, the family came to Burlington, and this city remained their home. In 1849 the deceased was united in marriage with Mirss Catharine Wollmann. The union proved a very happy one and was blessed with nine children, of whom eight survive. The good mother passed to the better land nine years ago. The surviving children are: Mrs. R.P. Koch, of this city; Mr. Geo. Andre, of Hannibal, Mo.; Mr. Henry P. Andre, of this city; Mr. Chris, Andre, of St. Joseph, Mo.; Mrs. Chas. Scholes. of Cody, Wyo; Messrs. Frank and John Andre, of this city, and Mrs. George Harmer, of this city. He made his home with the latter where he received the most faithful and loving care. Other surviving relatives are a brother, Mr. P.A. Andre, of this city, and a sister, Miss Catharine Andre, also of Burlington. He was a faithful member of the German Zion's church and had led a quiet retired life for the past eight or nine years. Prior to that time he was for many years the faithful night watchman at the Merchant's National bank. He was a man whom everybody liked and who possessed the confidence of all who knew him. His lot had been a very happy and fortunate one, inas-much as he lived to a ripe old age, blessed with good health and surrounded by children and children's children, all of whom were a credit to him and to their respective communities. The arrangements for the funeral will be announced later.,
