Mr. Rudolph Bernard Anderson, 65, of 707 S. Fourth, died Sunday at 9:10 p.m. at Burlington hospital where he had been hospitalized some time.
A native of Burlington, he was born Mar. 11, 1898, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Anderson. On May 2, 1922, he married Helen Rudy of Burlington.
Mr. Anderson was a member of Messiah Lutheran church, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Burlington Gymnastic society. He worked as manager of Arledge Truck Lines for many years and was also active in the Third Alarmers. It was while he was a member of the Third Alarmers that he lost a leg and suffered severely injured hand during the VFW fire in 1950.
Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Delpha Jean McDonald of Hurst, Tex.; Mrs. Mary Ellen Grier, Albuquerque, N.M.; two sons, Bernard Anderson of Davenport; Loren Anderson with the US Army stationed in Germany; 12 grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Luth and Miss Evelyn Anderson, both of Burlington; one brother Eric Anderson of Burlingotn One brother, hugo. is dead.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran church with the Rev. Paul Linday officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery. The body is at the Burnett Memorial Chapel.
