Obituary
Peter A. Anderson, 69 years old and for twenty-one years a faithful employe at the Burlington postoffice, died at 8:15 o'clock last night at his home, 206 South Garfield avenue. Mr. Anderson was born in Sweden, December 14, 1854, and came to America and direct to Burlingotn in 1883. In 1902 he went to work at the postoffice and remained in the posital service there until he was retired and pensioned last yar.
Mr. Anderson was affectionally known by his associates at the post office as "Pa" Anderson and he was honored and esteemed by the men he had worked with for so many yars, becasue of his gentle, earnest disposition and faithful service.
Last year, following his retirement when the holidau season rolled around he found his footsteps leadin ghim back to the postoffice. It didn't seem right, he said for the rush season to be on and him not in it, so he was again permitted to get back "into the barness" for a brief period, while the tide of the year's mail was at its highest point. Mr. Anderson was a member of Messiah Lutheran church, Harold lodge 54, I.O.O.F. and the Modern Brotherhood of America. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Caroline Anderson, one son, Fred p. Anderson, of Sacramento, Calif., who is on his way to Burlington and one daughter, Miss Ethel Anderson at home.
The funeral will be held from the family home Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock. The services and burial will be private and friends are asked not to send flowers. The body may be viewed at Prugh's chapel Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
