Robert L. Banks, chief clerk to AB McKinley of the St. Louis, Keokuk and Northwestern railway, dropped dead in the general offices of the company at Hannibal immediately upon returning from dinner. He was in the act of opening a letter when death came from paralysis of the heart. He was aged 36 years, and had been in the employ of the Burlington railroad for 19 years. He came to Hannibal from Burlington Ia, in 1901
