Mrs. Janice Joy "Jan" Matlick, 61, of West Burlington died at 9:12 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2015, at Great River Medical Center.
Born September 3, 1953 in Burlington, she was the daughter of John Henry and Helen Gretchen (Fox) Leffler. She married Jim Matlick in 1985.
Jan was a registered nurse for 30 years and worked at Burlington Care Center and St. Francis Care Center.
Jan was a member of First Christian Church - Disciples of Christ. She enjoyed sewing, crafting and taking care of her family. She was an exceptional care giver. To know her was to love her.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Matlick of West Burlington; one son, Jason Matlick of West Burlington; one granddaughter, Ava Marie Powers of Mediapolis; her mother, Helen Leffler of Burlington; one sister, Linda (Randy) DeVrieze of East Moline, Illinois; one brother-in-law, Wayne Hill of Clinton and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; daughter, Jami Matlick; twin brother, John Jay Leffler; and sister, Sandra Sue Hill.
The memorial funeral service for Jan will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 29th at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. David Yonker officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the time of service.
A memorial has been established for Burlington Care Center.
According to Mrs. Matlick's wishes, cremation has been entrusted to Lunning Chapel.
