Frances "Fran" Borrego Butcher, 52, of West Lafayette, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at IU University Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born November 10, 1961, she was the daughter of Daniel Borrego and Felisiana Estrada Borrego. Fran married James "Jim" Butcher on February 10, 1995 in Lafayette.
Fran graduated from Burlington Community High School in 1979. She worked as an inspector at Ball Corp. in Monitcello for the last 14 years.
Frances loved her family, and greatly enjoyed spending time with them. In her free time, Fran liked to fish, kayak, hike, camp, and watch football. She was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Dallas Cowboys. She enjoyed cooking, eating, drinking, and being merry.
Survivors include her husband, Jim; one daughter, Anna DiMartino of Burlington; two sons, Stephen Lee Thornton and David Butcher, both of Lafayette; three grandchildren, Nadia DiMartino, Izel Smothers, and Olive Lyn Butcher; one brother, Teodoro Borrego of Anamosa; one sister, Eloisa Morales of Brownsville, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Elvira Aramboro and Maria Borrego, and by four brothers, Daniel, Jessie, Antonio, and Gonzalo Borrego.
The memorial service for Mrs. Butcher will be 10:00 AM Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Thielen Funeral Home with Pastor D. Dean Benton officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held at the Moose Lodge following the burial.
