Obituary
While Mr. John Anderson, a well known old citizen, was assisting in the work of painting the Swedish M. E. church, he fell from the roof about five o'clock yesterday afternoon. Another man was at work on the building but did not see the old gentleman fall and was not aware of the accident until the injured man had been discovered by passersby. Mr. Anderson was taken to Burlington hospital. His skull was fractured and he had suffered internal injuries, and it was plain to the physicians that he was beyond earthly surgery. He was made as confortable as possible and passed away at 7 p.m.
Mr. Anderson was born in Sweden some seventy-three years ago and was well preserved and in excellent health. he came to Burlington many years ago and was held in high esteem by all who knew him, a very religious man, who dealt right with everybody and found his greatest pleasure in the church and its work. He is survived by a son, Herman Anderson. The wife was killed by a train near the Murray plant in May, 1909. And some wil ponder upon the coincidence that the husband should also pass away the result of an accident.
Mr. Anderson would probably have been good for may added years if he had not suffered this accident, and they would have been years filled with good deeds.
The funeral will beheld next Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the family home, No 1309 Iowa street, the cortege proceeding to the Swedish M. E. church, where the funeral will take place at 3 o'clock, with interment in Aspen Grove cemetery. Friends are invited to these services
