Obituary
Mrs. Martha Balzer, 84, of 2018 Highland Ave, resident of Burlington 60 years, died at her home at 7:20 this morning after a four months illness.
She was born in Chaska, Minn., Feb. 18, 1857, and married John A. Balzer at Laketown, Minn, Sept. 18, 1885. Mrs. Balzer was a member of First Evangelical Church and the aid society.
Surviving are a son, Clarence of Burlington; a daughter, Mrs. J.P. Weir, Burlington; three sisters, Mrs. Katherine Scherer, Minneapolis, Minn.; and John Sauerbrey, Chaska and Mrs. Martin Koehenen, Chaska; two brothers, Ed and George. Mr. Balzer died in 1931.
Services will be held at First Evangelical Church at 3 pm March 20, after rites at the home. Rev. J.H. Buescher, pastor of the First Evangelical church, will officiate and interment will be at Asen Grove cemetery. The body will be at Burnett-Wallen funeral home until 9 o’clock Sunday morning.
