Obituary
Charles J. Anderson, a resident of Burlington the greater part of his life, died yesterday afternoon about 4:30 at his home, 413 South Marshall street. He was formerly proprietor of the Black HAwk saloon at 217 North Main street, and several other similar businesses in Burlington. His death followed a long period of poor health, extending over about seven years.
Mr. Anderson was born in Jonkoping, Sweden, November 7, 1862, and immigrated to this coutnry when fourteen years old, coming directly to Burlington, where he had resided ever since.
He married Mary Olson, November 17, 1892. Besides his widow, he leaves one daughter, Mrs. Byron Riley, of Anderson of Chicago and Arthr Anderson at home. There are also three brothers, Ike Anderson of Burlington, Alfred Anderson of Denver, Col., and Gust Anderson of Minneapolis, MN., and two sisters, Mrs. Frank Peterson of Burlington and Mrs. John Pierson of Minneapolis, Minn.
Mr. Anderson was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church and the Eagle and Moose lodges.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 from the family home, followed by burial in Aspen Grove cemetery.
