Obituary
Carl August (Charley) Anderson, 87, of 207 S. Eighth, died Monday at Burlington hospital after a long illness. He was born Feb. 4, 1883, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Carl A. and Anna Anderson. For 52 years he worked for Biklen-Winzer, a former Burlington grocery firm.
on Oct. 12, 1898, he married Hulda Sophia Rose. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran church, of which he was once chairman of the board of trustees.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Carl A., Jr., of Peoria, Il.; Chester W. of Milwakee, Wis., and J.R. (Bob) of Pittsburgh, Pa.; one daughter, Mildred R. Anderson of Milwaukee; 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Five sisters died earlier.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Messiah Lutheran church, the Rev. John L. Kindschuh officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
