Obituary

Axel R. Anderson, 95, of 1109 S. Garfield, died at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday Oct. 22, at St. Francis Continuation Care Center. He was born Nov 12, 1885, at Kalmar, Sweden. the son of Andrew and Sophie Swenson Anderson. He married Edna Oliphant May 7, 1966, in Burlington.
He was a retired coffee roaster for Benner Tea Co., a member of Messiah lutheran church and a former member of its board, and a member of the Isaac Walton league.
Surviving: The wife; two sons, james, Cherokee Village, Ark., and Paul, Stuart, Fla.; daughter, mrs. Lucille Johnson, Cherokee Village; two stepdaughters, Mrs. iona Fox, Burlington, and Mrs. Gladys Smith, Tonopah, nev.; stepson, William Bloomberg, West Burlington; eight grandchildren, 16 stepgrandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 25 stepgreat-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral: 1;30 p.m. Thursday, Messiah Lutheran church, Rev. Donald D. Hoornstra; Aspen Grove cemetery. The body is at Prugh's chapel.
