Mrs. Augusta Anderson, wife of Nils AAnderson, former county recorder, died at the family home, 314 South Garfield avenue, at midnight last night.
Mrs. Anderson had been in ill health for two months, and critically ill for three weeks. She was 75 years old.
Born in Vastergotland, Sweden, May 25, 1857, she came to America and to Burlington in 1870 and had lived here ever since. She and Mr. Anderson were married here Nov. 5, 1883. She had been a member of Messiah Lutheran church for 57 years and also belonged to the Ladies Aid society and the Mustard Seed society.
Surviving are her husband, one son, one daughter, three sisters, one brother and one grandchild. The son is Roscoe, chief yeoman, United States navy, the daughter is MRs. Horace Coughlin of Chillicothe, ill; the sisters are Mrs. Fredericka Swan and Mrs. Anna Swanson, both of Burlington, and Mrs. John Johnson of Rock Island, and the brother is Swan Turnquist of Sioux Rapids, Ia. One son died two years ago and two brothers and one sister also preceded her in death.
The body was removed to the Burnett-Wallen funeral home where it will remain until funeral arrangements can be completed today.
She was well known in the community and both Mr. and Mrs. Anderson had taken prominent parts in community and church affairs.
