Obituary
Mrs. Sabina C. Ballard, 84, widow of the late John Ballard, resident of Burlington for many years, died at the home of her daughters, 1405 Division Street, at 4:30 pm yesterday. She had been in failing health for several months.
Mrs. Ballard was born in Pennsylvania on Dec. 6, 1845. She came to Des Moines county with her parents when she was a child. On September 25, 1861, she was married to Mr. Ballard. She has made her home for some time with her daughters, Mrs. Circe Allen and Mrs. Alma Robers. Her husband and six children preceded her in death. Besides her daughters, she is survived also by 14 grandchildren and seven great=grandchildren. She was a member of the First Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at the home at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, with burial in Aspen Grove cemetery. Friends are asked to omit flowers.
