Obituary
At the family residence, corner Third and Columbia streets, occurred the death, yesterday morning, of August Althof. Deceased was born July 4, 1844, in LippeDetmold, Germany. He came to this country when a boy, residing in New York until about 1864, when he came to Burlington. After residing here a few years, he concluded he could do better elsewhere and was away for several years, but finally made up his mind to make Burlington his home. Mr. Althof was of a genial disposition and had many warm friends amoung the Germans. His wife passed to the unknown land about a yar ago, which leaves his four children alone to mourn their father's death. He was a member of the Burlington Turnverein, which society will have charge of the funeral, which takes place from the fmaily residence to-morrow (Wednesday) afternoon at two o'clock.
