Mr. Ernest R. Almloff, 92, of 519 S. Gunnison, died at 11 a.m. Monday at Shady Nook nursing home.
Mr. Almloff was a retired railway mail clerk. For many years he worked on various sections between Chicago and Council Bluffs, retiring 30 years ago. He was a member of the Railway Mail Assn.
A native of Hamburg, he was born Nov. 26,1872, to Peter adn Charlotte Carr Almloff. He married Nellie E. Norbom at Burlington June 26, 1899.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Elmer E. Almloff of Ankeny; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Prugh's Chapel the Rev. Roscoe Wolvington officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
