David John Almendinger, 76, of 916 Melrose Court, died at 7:50 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis hospital. He was born May 26, 1890 in Burlington, the son of David J. and Louisa Goetz Almendinger. August 29, 1917, at Rock Island, Il he married Bernice Mooney.
For 28 years he worked in the shipping department at Iowa Soap Co. retiring nine years ago. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ.
Surviving: The wife; two sons, Kenneth John Almendinger and James Norman Almendinger, both of Burlington; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one niece.
Services: 3:30 p.m. Friday Prugh's Chapel, Rev. Armin Meyer; Aspen Grove cemetery.
