Helen Marie Burrell, 90, of Danville, died at 7:20 PM Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at the Danville Care Center.
Born December 17, 1925, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Ervin George and Goldie Marie Halfley Remaly. On May 4, 1941, she married Clinton Eugene "Gene" Burrell in Kahoka, MO.
Helen worked for Sylvania, Champion, IAAP, and for Danville Food Mart.
Helen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as well as the Eastern Star. She also spent her time raising chickens. Her and Gene loved to square-dance. Helen loved to play organ, crochet and sew, but most importantly she loved caring for her family and friends.
Survivors include two sons, Lucky (Barbara) Burrell of Middletown and Jay (Christa) Burrell of Burlington; one daughter, Dorothy Mears of Burlington; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie Diercks of Burlington, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sons, Edward and Ray Burrell
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday, December 5, 2016 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Mrs. Burrell will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Bishop Dell Hammond officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
