Obituary

Friends in the city received the sad news last evening of the death of John Allison, who passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lyman Fogel, at Mena, Ark. Some ten days ago he suffered a paralytic ctroke, from which he failed to rally. he was in point of service the oldest train dispatcher in the service of the Burlington road from whi he retired some four years ago, a man who was widely known and held the highest esteem by all who knew him. he was born May 15, 1851, a nephew of the late United States Senator Wm. B. Allison,and is survived by five children: William, at Albia, Iowa; Fred, at Tacoma, Wash; John and James Allison, at Seattle, Wash, and Mrs. Lyman Fogel, at Mena, Ark. The remains are expected here on Thursday and the arrangements for the funeral will be announced later.
