Obituary
Mrs Barbara Albertson, one of Burlington's pioneer settlers, died shortly after noon at her residence, No. 213 Spruce street. Deceased had been in ill health for the past six years, and last Friday her condition changed for the worse, her death resulting to-day.
Barbara eber was born in Bavaria in 1823, and in 1849 removed with her parents to America, settling in Michigan. Three years later she was married to Albert Albertsen. Mr. Albertsen was employed by the C., B. & Q. when it first pushed its way into Burlington. Forty-five years ago the residence with her children. Mrs. Albertsen was a good Christian woman and brought up her children in her belief. Her greatest object in life was in making her home attractive and pleasant in order to advance those of her children and friends.
She is survived by five children: Mrs. Lena neason and Mrs. Rosa Brock of Derby, Ia., William Albertsen of Hammond, Ind., Adolph of Ottumwa and Emma of this city.
