Peter Adolphson, 73, of 1107 Jefferson street, retired letter carrier, died at his home last night.
Mr. Adolphson, a resident of Burlington 67 years, had been in failing health for some time. On his retirement from the postal service July 12, 1924, he had been a mail carrier 37 years.
He was born in Sweden, July 12, 1861, and was married here to Ida Larson, June 10, 1885. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran church.
Well known throughout the city, Mr. Adolphson was known as a bird lover and reader, and since his retirement had traveled a great deal.
Surviving are his widow; three sons, Victor, Burlington, and Clarence and Gilbert, Schenectady N.Y.; two sisters, Mrs. John Landegren and Mrs MArk Pistorius, Burlington and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Prugh's chapel at 2 p.m. Friday with burial in Aspen Grove cemetery. The Rev. A.D. Freden, pastor of Messiah church will officiate.
