Rose Nielson was born August 22, 1890, at Rutland, Iowa. She was a graduate of the Humboldt public schools. Later she taught for a time in the rural schools of Humboldt county. She was married to Oscar A Baldwin on May 31, 1911. Two children came to the home; Eva Isabelle and Evelyn Helene, both of Humboldt.
Rose passed away at her home on June 8, 1934, at the age of 43 years, nine months, and seventeen days. Besides her husband and two daughters, she leaves her mother, Mrs. Magdalene Nielson of Humboldt, and two brothers and five sisters; Andrew Nielson of Chicago, Will Neilson, Mrs. Mary Smitkey, and Mrs. Christine Baldwin, all of Humboldt; Mrs. Anna Saregard of Minneapolis; Mrs. Magdalenea Johns of Los Angeles, California; and Mrs. Agnes Walter of Des Moines.
Mrs. Baldwin joined the Baptist church at Bradgate, Iowa, later transferring her membership to the First Baptist Church of Humboldt. To Mrs. Baldwin, her family and her home where her main objectives of life. For her, no task was too great or too hard for her to attempt. Her loving devotion to them was manifest at all times and she was even anxious that her daughters have all the advantages that she could possibly give them. She was intensely interested in their church work and was an inspiration to them for all that was good and uplifting. The performance of daily tasks faithfully and uncomplainingly done was the measure of her loyalty and love.
