Funeral services for William Balbort, 86, 2012 Osborn, will be held Saturday at 2 pm at Giles funeral home with the Rev. John Schulz in charge. Balbort died Thursday afternoon at Burlington hospital after a long illness.
Born in Burlington Aug. 4, 1867, he was the son of Frederick and Sarah Balbort and was married in 1893 to Minnie Giese.
Until his retirement 15 years ago, he had been in the transfer business.
Surviving are a daughter, Agnes, three sons, William, Roy, and Ralph, all of Burlington; four grandchildren, and three sisters, Mrs. Nellie Bombergerand Nellie Bolbort, Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Lillian Bringer, Burlington. His wife and a son are dead.
Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
