David Edwin Baker, 56, of Ridgecrest, Calif., died of natural causes Wednesday Jan. 28, 2004, at his home. Born March 13, 1947, in Burlington, he was the son of Vernon and Mary Baker. Mr. Baker was an electronics technician for the Naval Air Warfare Center-Weapons Division in China Lake, Calif. He retired as a DP-3 in 1998. He attended Burlington Community College and Cerro Coso Community College, earning his AA/AS degree. He was a Navy veteran, serving from 1967 to 19070. He enjoyed bowling and traveling. Survivors include one daughter, Felicia Baker of Bakersfield, Calif.; one son, Eric Baker of Oxnard, Calif.; one granddaughter; three sisters, Darlene Lenoir and Lora Turner, both of Burlington, and Janice Clark of Camden, N.J.; cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friend Belinda Sellers of Port Hueneme, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. A memorial service for Mr. Baker with military rites conducted by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard from China Lake, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Union Baptist Church in Ridgecrest, with the Revs. E. Benjamin Thomas III and Douglas A. Hearns officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date. Holland & Lyons Mortuary, 216 S.
