Obituary

Saturday morning Miss Georgia Swezy received a telegram from St. Joseph, Mo., announcing the death of her brother-in-law RG Barrie. The first intimation of his sickness was given last Wednesday when Mrs. MJ Swezy of this city was telegraphed to come immediately to St. Joseph. Mr. Barrie was carried off suddenly after being sick but ten days. He was a strong, healthy man but the dread disease of pneumonia which afterward run into typhoid fever soon broke down his strong constitution. He died Friday, April 27. The remains were brought to Burlington, the funeral services taking place on Sunday from his residence 211 Pond street, West Hill.
Mr. Barrie was 38 years old. He was married twice, his first with was Miss McCormick of Burlington and second wife, who yet survives him, Miss Jessie Swezy, of Keithsburg, to whom he was married on the 19th of May 1884.
Dr. GC Humbert and wife, HC Cook, Miss Georgia Swezy, and Mrs. MJ Swezy went down to Burlington to attend funeral services.
