Services for Mrs. Lucille Lenore Bacher, 43, killed in a Davenport drugstore holdup Tuesday afternoon, will be held Saturday in Burlington. A bandit entered the store while her husband was having his lunch in their upstairs apartment and tied Mrs. Bacher up and then hacked Mrs. Bacher to death. Upon coming upon the bandit, Mr. Bacher was also beaten up and slashed. He did not die of his injuries, however.
The local services will be at 2 pm in Wallen's chapel. The Rev. G.A. Sathoff will officiate. Burial is will in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
Services will be held Friday at 1:30 pm at McGinnis funeral home, Davenport, and the body will then be brought to Burlington.
Mrs. Bacher was born Oct. 12, 1912, in Burlington, the daughter of Edward G. and Minnie Haddix. Oct. 4, 1936, she married Henry C. Bacher in Freeport, Ill. She was a member of the former St. Mark Lutheran church here.
Surviving are her husband; her mother, and a sister, Mrs. Albert Wenieke of Burlington. Her Father and a Brother are dead.
