Obituary
Mr. John Kurtz Bacher, 71, was found dead at his home, 212 Spring, Monday night. When Clarence Lee Ballard, 919 N. Eighth, was unable to rouse anyone at the Bacher home about 8 pm, he called police. Police called a doctor, Mr. Bacher, who had been ill, was believed to have died about 4 pm.
Mr. Bacher had retired as owner of Bacher's Dry Cleaning Co. He was born Sept. 27.1891, in Burlington, the son of Philip and Jennie Hickok Bacher. He was a member of First Methodist Church and Hawkeye Natives.
A sister, Mrs. Mabel Rutherford of Burlington and two nieces survive.
Services will be Thursday at 2 pm in Prugh's chapel. Dr. G. Dempster Yinger will officiate. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
