Obituary
Pfc. Warren Bonewitz, 19, who graduated from Burlington High School last June only 4 days before entering the army, has been reported missing in action in Germany as of March 24.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul W. Bonewitz, 2407 Madison Avenue, his parent, were informed by the war department that their son, an infantryman, was missing. They were hopeful that later information would show he was separated from his unit or was taken prisoner.
Going overseas in January, he first was in England and later in France before entering Germany.
Bonewitz was among high school leaders who helped generate interest in a youth center, nearly 3 years ago, leading to the establishment of the Spider Web. His parents donated the fountain and other equipment for the teenage center, in which his sister, Betty since has been active.
