Obituary
The funeral service of City Treasurer William Augutta, yesterday afternoon, was one of the largest that ever occurred in Burlington. The universal respect in which he was held, and the general feeling of sorrow for his death, was manifested in a touching manner. At half past one the remains were removed from the house which had to long been his home, accompanied by a large procession, consisting of Washington Lodge No 1, and Eureka Encampment No 2, of Odd Fellows, the Mayor and City Council, the City Officers, the Berns Club, and a large concourse of citizens. The pallbearers were W.E. Woodward, S T Acres, J S Cook, b Campbell, Wm Garrett, and M Ballon. At Christ Church Rev. Mr Watson read the service of the Episcopal Church and delivered a short discourse. The procession then set out for Aspen Grove Cemtery, where Mr. Watson finished the burial service of the Church, and the body was interred with the impressive ceremonies of Odd Fellowship, under the direction of Rev. Mr. Pillsbury, of Ebemezer Methodist Church, acting Chaplain of the bodies.
