Mr. Joseph Edward Buckles, 48, of Burlington died Sunday, March 2, 2014, at his home.
Born July 22, 1965 in Burlington, he was the son of Jerry Lee and Shirley Carlene (West) Buckles.
Mr. Buckles was a Burlington High School and Indian Hills Community College Culinary School graduate. He worked as a chef at Bentley's at the Mall, Diamond Daves in Ottumwa and Iowa City, the Towne House, and SunnyBrook of Burlington. He was of the protestant faith and enjoyed dog shows, going to auctions, the History channel, Bible shows and his Siberian husky, "Nikki".
Survivors include his mother, Shirley Buckles of Burlington and aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Jeffery.
There will be no visitation or service at this time. Cremation has been accorded and entrusted to Lunning Chapel.
