Obituary
James O. Benton, past 78 years old, passed away at his home, 827 North Seventh Street this morning at 3 o’clock. Mr. Benton suffered a paralytic stroke seven years ago and had been an invalid since that time.
He was born in the eastern states and came to Kansas and settled near Onaga where he was a farmer and stock raiser for some years. Mr. Benton was married twice, his first wife was Isabel Walker who died in 1901. To this union were born the following children who survive; Lewis O. Benton, of Oberlin, Kan., Floyd E. Benton of Norton and Earl of Traer, Mrs Lucia Noble of Inglewood, Calif., and Mrs. Sedelia D. Fisher of Janesville, Wis.
Twelve years ago he moved to Burlington where he has made his home ever since. In 1927 his wife passed away, and since that time he has lived alone.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 at the Burnett-Wallen Funeral Home. Interment will be in Aspen Grove.
