Mrs. J. O. Benton, 825 North Seventh Street died at her home, at 11:20 Tuesday night after five weeks of illness. She was 71 years old, and a native and lifelong resident of Burlington.
Mrs. Benton was born in Burlington, January 2, 1856, and was united in marriage several years ago with J.O. Benton, who survives her. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church.
Besides her husband, there survives one son, Edwin E. Schreiner of West Julian, Ia.
The body was taken to Prugh’s chapel pending funeral arrangements.
Funeral services for Mary J. Benton will be held at her home, 825 North Seventh Street. Friday afternoon at 3:30, with burial in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
