Obituary

The death of Mr. J.W. Cadwallader occurred Sunday, also, at his home on the corner of Seventh and Locust streets. He was ill for several months and in gradually failing health for a much longer time. He was sixty-six years of age and an old resident of our city. He was engaged in the Mexican War and was one of the few veterans of those campaigns still remaining in our city. He was a man of the most scrupulous honor, the most modest demeanor, shrinking from publicity or notoriety of any sort. He will be greatly mourned by his fellow citizens, who have deeply sympathized with him in his illness.
