Obituary

Many people were surprised yesterday to see a crape on the door of Mr. Bonitz’s News Depot in the Barrett house block. The occasion there was the sudden death of Mr. Bonitz from heart disease on his way downtown a little after 8 o’clock. The deceased was unmarried and lived on Ash Street with a married sister, Mr. Legler, and was on his way downtown when he fell dead without warning, near Zaiser’s meat market, on North Oak Street. Mr. Bonitz was born in Langenfeldt, Sazony, and was 46 years of age. He came to America ten years ago and for six or seven years kept the newsstand with which he was identified at the time of his death. He has living here, besides the sister with whom he resided another sister, Mrs. Pietsch, with whom his father has resided for some time, five or six miles west of Burlington, and his brother Herman Bonitz of the firm of Decker & Bonitz. The funeral will be held tomorrow at 2 o’clock from the home of the deceased, 916 Ash Street.
