Obituary
Peter F. Young, 70, life resident of Des Moines county, died at Burlington hospital this morning after a week's illness with pneumonia He was born near Kingston July 5, 1866, but had spent most of his life in Burlington. A former blacksmith, with a shop at Columbia street and Central avenue, he later worked at the Noelke-Lyon company and recently for the Young cigar factory. On July 20, 1888, he was married to Caroline Jacquinet of this city in Burlington. Mr. Young was member of Trinity Lutheran church. Modern Woodmen and Woodmen of the World lodges and of the Hawkeye Natives society. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Herbert Traman of this city and Mrs. H.F. Gerdom with whom he made his home at 1225 Oak street; three grandchildren, Janet and Donald Gerdom and Warren Traman; and one sister, Mrs. Anna Mosena, of Ottumwa. his wife died seven years ago, and one brother and one sister also died previously. Funeral services will be held from the Young home at 2:30 Thursday afternoon, with services conducted by the Rev. C.V. Tambert, Trinity church pastor. Interment will be in Aspen Grove cemetery. The body will be taken to the residence from the Unterkircher funeral home Wednesday.
