Susan Cornelia Brown, 93, of Burlington died at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 2007, at Morning Sun Care Center. Born March 29, 1914, in Mount Pleasant, she was the daughter of Percy W. and Etta L. Chronister Wells. On Sept. 5, 1944, she married Charles William Brown in Smith Center, Kan. He died July 9, 1982. Mrs. Brown was a Burlington High School graduate. She worked in management for Niesner Brothers for 37 years. She enjoyed playing the piano. Survivors include one stepdaughter, Georgia of Spearfish, S.D.; three stepgranddaughters; several stepgreat-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Springsteen of Morning Sun; nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. There will be no visitation. The graveside funeral service and interment for Mrs. Brown will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Randall Gearhart will officiate. A memorial has been established for Morning Sun Care Center.
