Obituary

Alex H. Wedertz, 63, died at his home, 1718 Mark Lane, Sunday morning at 6;15 o'clock after two months illness. Mr. Wedertz was born in Burlington, February 23, 1870, the son of August and Mina Pietzsch Wedertz and married here 39 years ago to Clara Schultz who survives him. He was a moulder at the Murray Iron Works up until the last three years, and besides his widow is survived by two sons, Roy Wedertz and Ralph Wedertz of Burlington; four daughters, Mrs. Fred E. Burgus, Mrs. H.E. Gantz and Miss Irma Wedertz, all of Burlington and Miss Lucille Wedertz of Davenport; two brothers, Otto J. Wedertz and Albert Wedertz of Rock Island; three sisters, Mrs. H.J. Dustman and Mrs. Minnie Brown of Burlington and Mrs. Hattie Leis of Newport, Ky., and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in Burnett-Wallen funeral home tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of Rev. C.F. Zummach, pastor of Oak Street Baptist church with burial in Aspen Grove cemetery.
