The shocking news of the death at Los Angeles, Cal., of Roy H. Zaiser, a former resident of Burlington, who ended his life on Wednesday by swallowing carbolic acid, was received in a dispatch yesterday. The young man was twenty-three years old, and was the son of John A. Zaiser, the well known market gardener whose fine country place is located on Sunnyside avenue. Roy Zaiser left Burlington three years ago to enter the employ of his uncles Louis, Oscar and Edward Zaiser, who are in the commission business in Los Angeles, and who formerly conducted a grocery in this city. The information of Roy Zaiser's death received by the family in this city was contained in a brief dispatch, which stated that the young man had died as the result of an accident. The father, John A. Zaiser, at once telegraphed to los Angeles, instructing that the body be prepared for shipment and sent to Burlington, It is believed that the remains are now enroute east. Roy Zaiser was born in Burlington and received his educaton in the public schools, afterward attending business college for a short time. He is survived by his parents, five sisters and one brother, all living in Burlington. The young man was greatly esteemed by a wide circle of friends in this city to whom the news of his death will come as a shock. he was industrious and possessed of those traits that made him a general favorite.
