Rolland F. Keitzer, 87, of Burlington, died at 9:42 p.m. Sunday, October 19, 2008, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Born April 6, 1921, in Middletown, he was the son of Fred and Elizabeth Scaggs Keitzer. In 1948 he married Adaline Blaisdell in Burlington. Mr. Keitzer retired from Burlington Northern Railroad. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Moose Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Landlord Association. He enjoyed traveling and working on his apartments. Survivors include his wife; one son, Terry Keitzer of Coronado, Calif.; and one daughter, Sharon Keitzer of Mediapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Lunning Chapel in Burlington, where family will receive friends from 2 to 5 pm. The funeral for Mr. Keitzer will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Randall Gearhart officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established for First United Methodist Church.
